US Military Maintenance is a US veteran employment program of Patriotic Hearts, a 501c3 charity. We select US veterans from across America and help them build their own US Military Maintenance businesses. We establish veteran owned businesses that employ other US veterans at a good wage.
I, Tim Juback, enlisted in the United States Army in 2000, attended basic training at Fort Knox, KY and Advanced Individual Training at the US Intelligence Training Center - Fort Huachuca, AZ. I was an intelligence Sergeant (E-5) assigned to Headquarters Company 3rd Brigade 1st Infantry Division (The Big Red One) stationed in Vilseck, Germany.
In late 2002 my unit was deployed to Kosovo in support of NATO forces. On the 5th month of the deployment I was injured severely and spent 3 days in the ICU at Camp Bondsteel. I was temporarily paralyzed (the 4 scariest days of my life) from the waste down and suffered permanent nerve damage in both legs. All of my lumbar disks were herniated and I had a large contusion on my cervical spine due to the complexity of my injuries, I was transported to Landstuhl Medical Center in Germany, and then home to the United States where I spent six months recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in D.C. The United States Army medically retired me in 2003.
The past 14 years have been both extremely challenging and rewarding. As you know, back pain can be debilitating and after more than 20 surgeries, my outlook on life remains strong and grounded in faith. I am a very blessed man with a beautiful wife who has always taken care of me and 2 amazing children. As a disabled veteran, I am an alumni of the Wounded Warrior Project and have been involved with many different projects to raise money and help veterans in all aspects of life. The first time I read about Patriotic Hearts, HirePatriots and US Military Maintenance, I along with my family immediately felt spirituality prompted to be a change maker. I knew that we had to get involved so we could make a difference in the lives of as many veterans as possible. As servant leaders, myself and Kenneth my brother-in-law who is also a US Army Veteran, knew what we had to do and started US Military Maintenance Kentuckiana.
