I was temporarily paralyzed (the 4 scariest days of my life) from the waste down and suffered permanent nerve damage in both legs. All of my lumbar disks were herniated and I had a large contusion on my cervical spineDue to the complexity of my injuries, I was transported to Landstuhl Medical Center in Germany, and then home to the United States where I spent six months recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in D.C.
